Sometimes there is indeed such a thing as a free lunch – or at least a free concert, party or kite festival. Check out these five free events around the Bay Area this weekend. They’re free. Did we mention they’re free?. Rooftop Garden Concert: New Orleans Blues in Oakland. Is it possible to raise the roof on the roof? And in broad daylight? Find out July 7 at the free noontime Rooftop Garden Concert series atop the Kaiser Center in Oakland. This week, it’s New Orleans blues, so bring a lunch – ideally a po’boy and beignets – and take any elevator in the Kaiser garage to the roof garden level (the “RG” button). Elevators are also accessible via the Kaiser Building, 2nd floor pedestrian bridge.
